United Nations slow as molasses, United Nations won’t kick asses

Spit out from the maw of the WFMU universe comes a collaboration between dada DJ Kenny G and Vicki Bennett from People Like Us (and a newly-minted WFMU DJ herself)… Against a backdrop of going apeshit in the studio for hours at a time, occasionally while bound and gagged, they’ve released Nothing Special, a more polished collection of recordings on CD. If you’ve been forever spoiled by file-sharing and are now incapable of paying for music, the artists serve up the MP3’s themselves. With impeccable logic, PLU reasons that “if you didn’t pay for it, it’s not illegal.”

If looking for a place to start, check out the first track, “I’m from…” (MP3 7.7 MB), which is near-impossible to forget once infection has taken hold. You’ve been warned. My personal favorite is “Too far” (MP3 12.3 MB), a perfect rendering of what must be looping through the frontal lobes of Rumsfeld, Cheney, et al… audio chaos that depicts our ruling junta more effectively than anything published in the New York Times.

Both tracks carry an advisory warning if you’re anything like me, and prone to shouting out vulgar song lyrics at inappropriate times.

Going too far

WE don’t go too far!

None of us will go too far…

Maybe sometimes we WENT too far

But now WE WON’T!

Because we’re real nice guys!
