Well, it’s been a long time, been a long time, been a lonely lonely lonely lonely lonely lonely time.
And so much has happened since I was gone. I have to admit, of course, that the Bush administration knew exactly what it was doing in Iraq after all. Just like that, the country is enjoying American-style law and order and well on the way to democratic self-determination. Saddam’s massive arsenal of WMD have been safely secured.
And the neo-cons were right about the war’s effects, too. The televised display of supercool military might has ushered in a new era of liberal democracy in the region, with revolutionary change already underway in Saudi Arabia and Morocco.
But I’m stalling for time here… the grim march of history bears only a tenuous relation to my pathetic posting frequency of late. I sincerely apologise to anyone who has been watching this space in vain.
And I know that Scribbler could use a visual redesign, that the left sidebar links need to be freshened up, that the “reading room” on the right sidebar is never updated and serves no apparent purpose. I must shamefully acknowledge that this weblog does not know what it really “is“.
All this will be dealt with in due course. Plans are being made. Committees being struck. Charts being drawn, and numbers being crunched. I think you’ll be amazed. I know I will be.
