I’ll admit to an uncouth amount of pleasure spending my workdays based at UBC’s Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, which takes the vintage Main Library and now offers a set of spaces that clearly appeal to the students who jam its rooms, nooks and hallways…

But the IKBLC has nothing on these 15 Incredible Libraries Around the World… I know these are challenging times for libraries, and one can always criticize excess, but there is something lovely about an opulent library. A cathedral celebrating inquiry, expression and reflection.
